This!  This so damn much!
I don’t care if my professors think that I’ll be starving in New York City or Los Angeles.  I don’t care that my parents still want me to go to law school.  I don’t care that most English majors end up teaching high school.
I’m going to be a writer.  I’m going to do something I love, not something that will just make me money.  If I can make money writing, all the better.  But I’d rather be happy and a starving writer than miserable and a successful teacher.

This was my confession, cause well, this is exactly why I adore Katherine Beckett, and therefore Castle so much. The passion each and every character has for their job is astonishing- think about now just Beckett’s passion for solving every case, and Castle’s absolute adoration of writing & its processes, and even just Martha and how even if she’s not the most famous ever, acting is just who she is. I mean, even characters we’ve only seen briefly, like Josh, for example (who I don’t hate cause of this) believes deeply that he can help save the lives of people who are too far away to get help, and Johanna Beckett dedicated her life, literally, to representing those who had no voice and finding the honest truth.
That’s sorta a piece of my core beliefs in life- and I kinda love how Castle embodies that. And it’s so funny you say that, cause I feel the same way- my mom’s convinced that I’m going to go into arts or fashion, but I adore debates and conflict solving and figuring out people. Unlike you, I would adore going to law school.. it’s exactly what I hope to do. I don’t care who thinks I can’t do it, or who thinks I’ll never really go on the around-the-world trip I’ve been planning and saving for for years.. It literally just doesn’t matter. No me frego!
I think that even if the dream changes, or even if you do one thing for practical reasons and get to do what you love in all the rest of your time.. passion is absolutely everything. Just do it and love it and share it with the world, and even if the rest of your life is a mess, you can still be happy cause, well, you’re in love with something.
